The City of Beachwood is continuing to enhance efforts to keep residents connected and informed through the release of a new mobile app.
The mobile app is free and available now at the App Store or through the Google Play Store. The mobile app will offer residents and businesses a convenient, user-friendly interface for city news, events, visitor information and much more via smartphones and other mobile devices.
Beachwood Mayor Merle S. Gorden said the mobile app is a complement to the City’s updated, modernized and more functional Web site launched last year.
“With more people relying on their phones and tablets for news and information, it was important to us to provide a mobile friendly option,” Mayor Gorden said. “The app helps organize and scale information appropriately, making it much easier for residents to navigate on the go.”
While the app is available immediately, construction is still being tweaked and finalized on a handful of mobile devices. So if anyone is having issues with the display, the City expects any remaining bugs to be resolved and corrected within four to six weeks. Also, it is recommended that the most current software be installed on mobile devices for the app to work best.
With the mobile app, the City wants to make it as easy as possible for residents and visitors to find the information they seek. But Mayor Gorden reminded the public that they should not be using mobile apps while driving – it is unsafe, and in Beachwood, illegal.
