Beachwood Boredom-Busters: 1/15/2020

WEDNESDAY, January 15
8:00 PM: Get tickets now for the one-woman theatrical performance: Deb Filler’s “I Did it My Way in Yiddish (In English).” This event takes place at the Mandel Jewish Community Center (26001 South Woodland Rd.) and is presented by Interplay Jewish Theatre, The Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage, and the Mandel JCC. Tickets are $25 for general admission and $20 for Maltz Museum members. 

FRIDAY, January 17
10:00 – 11:00 AM: Research suggests it is best to make some of our healthcare decisions earlier in our lives, before a crisis occurs. This presentation will discuss different types of care plans, how to have healthcare related discussions with our family and friends, and how to create a future plan of care for yourself or your family. This free program takes place at the Menorah Park Center 4 Brain Health (27100 Cedar Rd – park in Visitor Lot B). Register online. 

Noon – 1:30 PM: Just in time for the Oscar nominations, Siegal Lifelong Learning presents Eastside Conversations: How the Jews Invented Movie Music. Hosted at the Landmark Centre Building (25700 Science Park Dr.), this program costs $27 for members and $22 for members of Lifelong Learning. Both tickets include lunch. Register now! 

SATURDAY, January 18
10:30 AM – 3:30 PM: Give life, give blood! The American Red Cross will host a blood drive at the Beachwood Branch of the Cuyahoga County Library (25501 Shaker Blvd.) today. Sign up in advance or just drop in. 

SUNDAY, January 19 
11:30 AM – 3:00 PM: Want to embrace your natural hair but don’t know where to start? Join ScalpTherapy and co-stylist Grace for a consultation at Salon Lofts in Beachwood (3355 Richmond Rd., Loft 13). Tickets ($15) and more info are available online. 

3:00 PM It’s “A Program for Two Pianos and More” at The Village in Beachwood, brought to you by M.U.S.i.C Stars in the Classics. Tickets available at many price points – learn more and purchase online

MONDAY, January 20
11:00 AM – 5:00 PM: The Maltz Museum (2929 Richmond Rd.) celebrates Martin Luther King Jr. Day today with free admission. Hands-on crafts and activities for the whole family will be available. See more information at their website

2:00 – 3:00 PM: Learn how setting intention at the start of the day not only changes brain activity but also creates the day that you want. The “Intention and the Brain” event will be led by Dawn Maze-Molina, M.Ed. LPC, at the Beachwood library (25501 Shaker Blvd.). Register now for this free program
