Beachwood Summer Concert Series Kicks Off Tuesday with Cleveland T.O.P.S. Swing Band

The Beachwood Summer Concert Series is back! Join us for the season’s kick-off on Tuesday, June 13 outside the Beachwood Family Aquatic Center.  The popular Cleveland T.O.P.S. Swing Band will perform from 6:30 to 8 p.m.  In the event of inclement weather, the band will perform inside the Beachwood Community Center.

Beachwood Summer Concert Series Outside Tuesdays and Inside Thursdays are free and open to the public. Check out the complete 2017 schedule filled with a variety of excellent musicians.

Senior Police

Now Accepting Applications for Senior Police Academy; Free Crime Prevention Program for Seniors

Beachwood Police Department is now accepting applications for the Senior Police Academy. During this free program, individuals 50 years or older will learn about real-life crime prevention and receive “hands-on” experience with the help of knowledgeable instructors. Participants will learn self-defense, CPR, safety and more.

The program takes place on Wednesdays from
1 to 3 p.m. at Beachwood City Hall from July 19 through September 13. To register for this free program (must be 50 years or older), please call 216.595.3733.

Seeking Volunteers to Serve on the Charter
Review Commission

Calling on Beachwood volunteers to be a part of the City’s legacy! The City will soon be appointing a nine member Charter Review Commission to review the City’s Charter and recommend changes to City Council for consideration. Any City Council approved changes will go before voters in 2018.

Any resident interested in suggesting a specific change for consideration by this commission should do so by submitting it to the Clerk of Council.

The Beachwood Charter can be viewed at under the “Government” tab. If you are interested in volunteering, please submit a letter of interest along with a resume or biography to the Clerk of Council via email at Interested individuals must be Beachwood residents and registered voters.

Save the Date for First Annual Fall Festival! Beachwood’s 1st Annual Fall Festival will be held Sunday, October 8 from noon to 6 p.m. outside Beachwood City Hall.

Enjoy food trucks, crafts, games and live music.


Gas Distribution Line Replacement

Dominion East Ohio Gas is currently in the process of replacing gas distribution lines within Beachwood. Streets affected include: Fairmount (east of Richmond), Hendon (Fairmount to Selkirk), Sulgrave (Shaker east bound to South Woodland), Duffield, Wimbledon,Hazelmere, South Woodland (Sulgrave to just short of Richmond).

All disturbed areas such as curbs, streets, drive aprons, tree lawns and trees will be replaced at no cost to the City or residents. Trees will be replaced in spring of 2018. Traffic will be maintained as usual, but please expect some delays for this important project. Thank you for your patience.
