Microsoft

Mayor Merle S. Gorden and the City of Beachwood welcomed the newest Microsoft
Retail Store, their second store in Ohio, at an official ribbon-cutting ceremony on
Saturday, April 13, 2013. Beachwood, with its vibrant economic environment,
continues to attract exceptional high tech companies like Microsoft.

Located in Beachwood Place Mall, Microsoft opened its doors with Mayor Gorden,
John Fikany, Microsoft General Manager of the Heartland District, and Stacey Vyas ,
Store Manager, doing the honors at the ribbon cutting. Mayor Gorden also
presented a Proclamation to Microsoft declaring April 13, 2013 as “Microsoft Retail
Store Day” in the City of Beachwood.

Microsoft also celebrated their grand opening by generously giving $1.5 million in
software grants to Junior Achievement of Greater Cleveland, the Boys and Girls
Clubs of Cleveland and the YMCA of Greater Cleveland.

Along with experiencing Microsoft’s latest products and a premium retail showcase,
the first 1000 people in line at the store’s grand opening received tickets for a
Saturday evening concert that featured Grammy Award winning Kelly Clarkson.
