[ARCHIVED] Beachwood Welcomes Eaton Corporation

Beachwood, Ohio – The dedication ceremony for the new Eaton Center was held on April 2, 2013. Situated on 53 acres in Chagrin Highlands, this ten story, 600,000 square foot facility is truly a striking and beautiful complex and represents a very important economic development achievement for Beachwood.

Now home to over 700 employees, the Eaton Center was designed with sustainability in mind. It is expected to be 40 percent more energy efficient than the company’s prior facility. Solar panels will generate 355,000 kilowatt hours of electricity - enough to power 60 homes – and the building’s glass exterior maximizes natural light on every floor. A rainwater collection system will serve to irrigate the many beautiful landscape effects located throughout the site. The campus also features 3 miles of walking trails, a fitness center and a health center.

As Mayor Merle S. Gorden said, “This is just one of many positive economic developments recently completed or underway in our community. I am proud that this global company chose Beachwood for its United States headquarters and that Beachwood played a pivotal role in keeping this Fortune 500 gem in northeast Ohio.”
